Oh, wow, I feel again how vibrant and alive Suzanne was, such a radiant person; I can’t help but think she would love this tribute. Her beauty, as she was a beautiful person, comes through in every picture, and that glow never dims. There is no diminishing effect, no end, she is forever present, her love and energy and soul. I have felt that since she died, but feel it even stronger after visiting this memorial. It sustains the lasting effect she had on me. I learned the essence of everything I know about love from Suzanne. I admired her and am so glad to have known her. I loved reading the quotations here; they represent the span of her intellectual and spiritual interests and I can hear each one in her voice.
Dear, blessed Suzanne, thank you for being you, and for bringing me the story of the woman in the road that joined us in true transcendence. See you on the next round. xoxo Rasma
What a loving tribute to an amazing person Paul. You have captured her essence in so many different ways, and her love of nature, the outdoors, and people – especially children. The quotes in and of themselves exemplify a life well lived. She did have a well lived life, up to the end. No one knows how long they have on this earth, but to face it with dignity and a smile is what Suzanne did. We are all better people for having touched her life. You have shown your deep love and affection by deeds and now by this tribute. Thank you for taking the time to create this loving memory for all of us to pause and smell the roses of all that life has to give. You were blessed to have her in your life, so close, for so long. God be with you, in whatever shape and form you tend to believe. Live for her, and carry on her spirit. ❤️
Paul, thank you so much for putting this together. I enjoyed being Suzanne’s sister-in-law and sharing emails through the years. She was so insightful. Going through the photos puts a smile on my face because she was always smiling and embracing her life to the fullest. I loved how she loved the children, and was such a great educator of them. This is a beautiful tribute to her life and how much fun she had living it!
Thank you Paul for sharing such a beautiful tribute. You released so lovingly – in pictures and narrative- Suzanne’s cosmic energy. I was very much moved by the opening picture of Suzanne where she has her arms outstretched to the sky, the mighty water behind her- connecting us all with the seen to the unseen.
I also felt her love for teaching early childhood. I wanted to pass on a quote which speaks to that special absorbent mind that is so powerful during early childhood.
This is from Maria Montessori from her 1946 London Lectures.
“Adults must defend children. We adults must see the real humanity in children, the humanity which will take our place one day…
Those whom nature has fitted to care for children see change in them everyday, almost every hour. This is an art which cannot be acquired without effort. To encourage is to rejoice, so that the child sees that you are rejoicing.”

A beautiful website for a beautiful soul. She truly was brave in her final years, and never shied away from adventure nor challenges. All done with a big smile on her face and joy in her heart. Miss you, Mom.

I absolutely loved your tribute to Suzanne. She was absolutely the kindest person I think I’ve ever known. I think about her often and her mother as well. The Hoya her mother sent to me is in full bloom right now. It will always bring me close to the two of them.
